Hiring a wedding planner is something that people can’t seem to agree with. Some would say that it’s the best decision they’ve ever made in their life after getting married, meanwhile, for others, it’s only a waste of money. If your wedding is coming up, you might be contemplating if you need a wedding planner.

In this article, we’re going to mention all equal sides of the situation and we’re not going to push you into doing it. Now, let’s get started!

The Job of a Wedding Planner

So, what does a wedding planner do? You might think that they “plan weddings”, however, it’s not only that. Their job is actually a bit more complicated than you think. To give you a more equally brief and accurate answer, wedding planners are responsible for wedding preparations in whatever manner you’ve consented to them.

Hiring a wedding planner can help you coordinate things well on the wedding date or accomplish everything wedding-related for months or even up to a year prior to the most awaited day. On the other hand, you may want to talk to a wedding planner you’ve chosen and assign certain tasks to them while leaving other things for yourself. If you like this one, then a customized and personalized wedding planner is for you. This only means that a wedding planner can help you achieve the things you need pertaining to your wedding day.

Reasons NOT to hire a wedding planner

    1. Your big day will be an intimate and a more modest wedding. So, a wedding planner won’t be required and will give you opportunities to save more money.
    2. If you’re celebrating a single-venue wedding with a number of guests that can be easily managed, you won’t be needing too much coordination. It would be a bonus if almost everyone knows each other at the wedding making it more effortless for the people to coordinate themselves.
    3. You have bridesmaids and best men who are experienced, knowledgeable, and are willing-to-help with the wedding preparations, planning, and coordination, then that’s perfect! After all, it’s the job of the bridesmaid and best man anyway.
    4. You don’t want to be restricted from access to particular vendors as most wedding planners only work with specific vendors, not for reasons that are quality-related but because of personal connections and higher commissions.
    5. Today, many wedding venues already provide on-site wedding coordinators that are usually included in the price of the venue. Also, coordination on the wedding day is the major reason for hiring a wedding planner in the first place, and you may just end up paying twice the charge for the same service.

Reasons to HIRE a wedding planner

    1. You and your fiance are working a full-time job and you don’t want to get fired. Event management and styling is obviously an occupation itself, the reason why it only makes sense that you give the majority of the responsibility to someone who actually knows how to bring weddings to life. If you and your partner want to take some time off and don’t want to get stressed with all the preparations, then it’s imperative for you to hire a wedding planner.
    2. The best wedding planner out there can help you use the wedding budget wisely. Technically, wedding planners are already a cost of money, but having a great wedding planner can also save you a lot of money. Why? They know how to stretch your budget and are aware of what’s more important. These people know what’s going to have more impact and what’s not on your wedding day. The bigger and more expensive your wedding will be, the more opportunities a great wedding planner will make to save you more money.
    3. Aside from helping couples save more money and stick to their budget, one of the best perks of having a planner by your side is they will surely fight for your wedding vision from beginning to end. Although there are plenty of vendors who handle more than one wedding per day or per weekend, a planner give 100% of their focus and attention on your special day. They ensure that everything goes according to what you’ve actually planned.
    4. Wedding planners are skilled in getting you discounts from different vendors. A lot of vendors generally don’t give discounts to newlyweds since it’s a “repeat business” in the industry of weddings. But this rule doesn’t apply to most wedding planners since they’re continuously working with particular vendors which provides them with the chance to get more discounts.
    5. You don’t want to have a ton of stress? Then a wedding planner can save you from that. Not all people can work, plan, and prepare for their big day since it can mean a lot of stress to them, especially if they’re the perfectionist kind of people and who easily get anxious when things don’t go their own way. A great wedding planner will spare you from that and leave you only the fun and joy. Who doesn’t like that, right?
